Join Alli Hartley-Kong, for a workshop series on how to write a 10 Minute Play. This will be a four week workshop series (April 15th, 22nd, 29th and May 6th) for actors and writers who are interested in writing a 10 Minute Play and will cover how to begin with a story idea and getting their thoughts onto the page. Students will receive coaching and feedback throughout the four week process.

-Week 1: Students will learn the basics and structure of playwriting. In this class the instructor will help them begin the process of getting their ideas down on paper and begin writing a rough draft of their 10 minute play.
-Week 2: Students will have written the rough draft of the 10 minute play. During this class half of the students will have the opportunity to share their work with others and have it read aloud. They will receive initial feedback and critique from the instructor and peers.
-Week 3: The second half of the class will have the opportunity to share their work with others and have it read aloud. They will receive initial feedback and critique from the instructor and peers. Depending on the size of the class, this class may be independent writing time/office hours.
-Week 4: Students will have made their edits from the previous class. This last week will focus on final edits and tweaks and students can submit their work to the Actors' Center 2024 Staged Readings

By the end of this workshop series, students will have fully written their 10 Minute Play and have an immediate opportunity to submit their work to be performed at the Actors' Center Staged Readings during Summer 2024.
