Hi there! My name is Max Marshall. I'm a recent graduate from the College of Charleston in South Carolina, majoring in Theatre with a concentration on Scenic Design and Technology. While at the College of Charleston, I worked with the Department of Theatre and Dance as a Scenic Designer, Performer, and Carpenter.
During my Junior Year, I worked as an Assistant Scenic Designer on the department's production's of Cabaret and Die Zauberflöte. Over the two following semesters leading into my Senior Year, I had the pleasure of acting as Lead Scenic Designer for our production of the musical, Violet. This production of Violet was also invited to remount at the 2023 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF, Region 4), and was subsequently awarded the National award for "Distinguished Achievement in Scenic Design".
During the summer of 2022, I got the opportunity to work as an Apprentice Carpenter with Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina. I was stationed as a Carpenter and Stagehand at the Charleston Gaillard Center, while intermittently assisting in the load-in, load out, and turnovers of multiple productions festival wide.
