Shakespeare in the Gardens, an outdoor interactive, peformance of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, in partnership with Historic London Town & Gardens. This Shakespeare at his most playfully chaotic. Four young lovers wander into the woods, where a group of fairies—who really should not be in charge of anything—decide to intervene in their relationships. Thanks to one well-meaning but unreliable sprite, everyone ends up briefly in love with the wrong person. Meanwhile, a troupe of very sincere (and very untalented) actors attempts to stage a play. By morning, things are mostly sorted out, dignity is lightly bruised, and the whole experience feels a bit like a dream no one can quite explain.
